Of the 14 new cases, 12 are from Ganjam, and one each from Sundergarh and Kendrapara. With this, the state’s total number of active COVID-19 cases now stands at 320, the number of patients cured or recovered at 68 while the death toll remains at 3.

Odisha reported 14 new COVID-19 cases Monday to take the state’s tally to 391, according to the Health and Family Welfare Department of the Government of Odisha.

Of the 14 new cases, 12 are from Ganjam, and one each from Sundergarh and Kendrapara. With this, the state’s total number of active COVID-19 cases now stands at 320, the number of patients cured or recovered at 68 while the death toll remains at 3. While two persons died to the disease from Khurda district (Bhubaneswar) earlier, the third death was reported from Ganjam Sunday.Ganjam continued to top the list of districts with highest COVID-19 cases with 137.

INS Magar, the second Indian Naval ship to reach Male, Maldives for evacuation of Indian citizens, has departed Male, Maldives after completing embarkation of personnel.

Indian Navy as part of Operation Samudra Setu under the Vande Bharat Mission has deployed INS Magar for second phase of repatriation of Indian citizens from Maldives. In the first phase, INS Jalashwa had evacuated a total of 698 Indian nationals stranded in the Maldives on 10 May 20.

Even as heavy rains at Male made conditions difficult, the ship made arrangements to ensure safety of people. A total of 202 personnel have embarked the ship, which includes 24 women, two expectant mothers and two children. One of the men, who hails from Tamil Nadu, has a fractured leg.

In line with the procedure followed on 08 May, the evacuees were screened medically, their baggage disinfected and were allotted IDs as per various zones earmarked on board the ship.

INS Magar departed Male yesterday evening for Kochi on completion of embarkation.

In other updates :As on 10th May 2020, a total of 366 “Shramik Special” trains have been operationalized from various states across the country, in which 287 trains had reached its destination and 79 trains are in transit.

These 287 trains were terminated in various states like Andhra Pradesh (1 Train), Bihar (87 Trains), Himachal Pradesh (1 Train), Jharkhand (16 Trains), Madhya Pradesh (24 Trains), Maharashtra (3 Trains), Odisha (20 Trains), Rajasthan(4 Trains), Telangana(2 Trains), Uttar Pradesh (127 Trains), West Bengal(2 Trains). In these Shramik Special Trains, maximum around 1200 passengers can travel observing social distancing. Proper screening of passengers is ensured before boarding the train. During the journey, passengers are given free meals and water.
