The allotment of seats for admission in first year MBBS course will be done for both JIPMER, Puducherry and Karaikal campus as per JIPMER’s existing policies of reservation and domicile regulations.

In Puducherry, JIPMER - Jawaharlal Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research, clarified in a press release today that the allotment of seats for admission in first-year MBBS course will be done for both JIPMER, Puducherry and Karaikal campus as per JIPMER’s existing policies of reservation and domicile regulations, though, the counselling will be done by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
 
Further, it is said that this was already indicated in the JIPMER prospectus and  details are available on the official website www.jipmer.edu.in.
 
In view of the pandemic situation, JIPMER will not be conducting its annual convocation this year and all the degree certificates will be sent to the registered addresses of the students. 

All  the eligible students have to register for the same in the format available on the website.

Meanwhile in a notice released on 28th September 2020 it was stated that the admission to MBBS course in JIPMER Puducherry and JIPMER karaikal campuses for the Academic session 2020 will be based on the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) test score and the counselling processes will be done only through Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India and NOT by JIPMER, Puducherry. 

JIPMER Puducherry will not conduct any separate JIPMER MBBS entrance examination or counseling process for admission to MBBS course in JIPMER Puducherry and Karaikal Campuses for the year 2020 session.
