Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said that the vaccine developed in India will be used for COVID-19 immunization. Mr. Kumar said, over 1.5 crore syringes had been arranged and sent to different districts for use in vaccination.

Detailing on the distribution of vaccine, Nitish Kumar said, it will be brought to the vaccine store at Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH), Patna, and then sent to ten Regional Stores in different parts of the state.

The Superintendent of NMCH Vinod Kumar Singh said, 15 lakh vaccines will be kept in the vaccine store and capacity is also being increased.

State Health Minister Mangal Pandey said another dry run for the COVID-19 vaccine will be conducted tomorrow in all districts of Bihar as per the Centre's instruction. The first dry run was conducted at different places in the districts of Patna, Jamui, and West Champaran on the 2nd of January.


Meanwhile, two lakh 49 thousand 520 patients have so far recovered from the Coronavirus infection in Bihar. The number of active cases of COVID-19 is continuously declining. Currently, four thousand 156 patients are receiving treatment at various hospitals.

In all, 424 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, while 408 new cases were reported. COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 97.81 percent in the state. This is 1.45 percent more than the national average.

Over 95 thousand Corona tests were carried out during the last 24 hours. Over one crore 88 lakh tests have been conducted in the state so far.
