Boost your immunity with seasonal foods this winter

Take a look at some natural things that will keep your body warm and will also boost your immunity this winter.

Winters have already knocked on our doors. Chilly winds in the evening make us remain inside the comfy blankets. With this changing weather (harsh dry weather), it gets a little difficult to protect our body against various pathogens. But don’t worry, here are some natural things that will keep your body warm and will also boost your immunity. 

Gond – It is obtained from the Acacia plant and is great for bones, sex drive, and digestive aid. It improves vitamin D levels and helps with joint pain. Gond ladoos are rich in calcium and protein. Gond ladoos are also given to women after delivery as it provides them with inner strength. 

Bajra – Bajra is one of the most loved food items in winter be it bajre ki roti, bajre ki khichdi, bajre ka daliya or bajre ka ladoo. It effectively fights against cold and flu and simultaneously boosts body immunity also. This is rich in vitamin B, protein, folate, and iron. 

In addition to this, bajra helps in muscle growth, weight loss, hair regeneration, diabetes management, and many more so.  

Sarso ka saag and other leafy greens – In winter, we get to see so many varieties of healthy green veggies and the options increase. Winters available green leafy like palak, methi, bathuwa, and sarso have incredible health benefits and flavors. These are full of antioxidants, fibers, and vitamins. Green vegetables are also anti-inflammatory. 

Sweet potatoes and root veggies – Seasonal fruits and vegetables like sweet potatoes, carrot, beetroot, and turnip helps keep your body warm. They are high in antioxidants, vitamin A and vitamin C, and minerals like iron and potassium. 

Sesame seeds – Those small white to gray colored sesame seeds ladoos are everyone’s favorites in Makar Sankranti. They are superfoods filled with essential and immunity-boosting ingredients. Til ke ladoo can improve gut health and respiratory-related problems. The seeds are packed with vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Thus, sesame seeds are excellent for hair, skin, and bone health.
