Let us not forget that chronic back pain may involve a nerve, muscle, bone, or joint issue with the musculoskeletal system. Moreover, it is always recommended to do yoga asanas under the direct supervision and guidance of an expert, especially in case of ailments.

Yoga asanas are also known as Yoga Poses which allow the stretch and strength of your body, muscles, joints, and nerves. This brings about the flexibility of joints provided it is done in the right way.

Yoga benefits for back pain 

Yoga poses and asanas help build strength and flexibility which can ultimately alleviate back pain. Studies have shown that one type of yoga which is known as Lyengar yoga therapy is very effective for chronic lower back pain. This has been shown to be effective in terms of reducing the intensity of pain after daily and regular practice of Lyengar yoga therapy for at least a total of 100 minutes a week for 16 weeks or 4 months. A simple practice of Lyengar yoga therapy for 30 minutes 5 days a week can work effectively for back pain. 

Keep in mind that after doing yoga, you may feel a little sore the next day which is considered normal. This soreness should go away within a few days with normal rest. No specific medications are required for it. Doing yoga poses and asanas should never cause pain, numbness, or tingling. In fact, it will help improve blood circulation and release tension from the muscles. Moreover, it relieves the mental agony due to back pain and calms your system down. However, if you have any symptoms while practicing yoga, it is important to consult your doctor.
