In Telangana, a COVID-19 testing laboratory has been set up at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad.

In Telangana, a COVID-19 testing laboratory has been set up at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad. State Health Minister E. Rajender inaugurated the lab last evening.

The airport has partnered with an ICMR-certified laboratory called, Mapmygenome, for setting up the laboratory, which will operate 24/7 for passengers and airport personnel.

The authorities informed on the occasion, that passengers can avail of the testing facility at the immigration level of the forecourt of the Interim International Departures Terminal.

The tests will be RT-PCR based, with the help of swabs and the result will be available in four to six hours via e-mail and WhatsApp or a hard copy of the report will also be provided.


A lounge has been created at Arrivals for the passengers who can wait to collect their reports.


COVID Testing Centre at the airport is expected to play a key role in enabling the resumption of air travel and instill confidence among people about safe travel.
