Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that arrangements are being made for availability of 1413 ICU beds in the city for Corona patients out of which 663 beds are being provided in Delhi government's hospitals and arrangements of 750 ICU beds will be made by the Central government.

Delhi government has announced to increase the fine from five hundred  rupees to two thousand rupees for not wearing masks in the national capital.

Briefing media today, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that arrangements are being made for availability of  1413 ICU beds in the city for Corona patients out of which 663 beds are being provided in Delhi government's hospitals and arrangements of 750 ICU beds will be made by the Central government.

Mr Kejriwal also said 80 per cent of  ICU beds will be reserved in private hospitals for COVID-19 patients and direction has been issued for raising of reserved non-ICU beds  at private  hospitals  from 50 per cent to 60 per cent.  He said, hospitals have also been asked to postpone non critical planned surgeries.

The Chief Minister also appealed to people not to celebrate Chhath at ponds  and water bodies in view of COVID-19 pandemic. He said, celebration of Chhath is  not banned but entering of a large number of people in a pond or river is banned as all of them will contract the infection, if even one of them has  COVID19 infection.

Earlier, Mr Kejriwal held a party meeting over COVID-19 situation. Later, he also met Delhi LG Anil Baijal and briefed him about the corona situation in the national capital.
