Five eye hospitals in the Tri-city region have been acquired by Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospital.

Adult blindness is avoidable or treated in up to 80% of cases. Cataracts, retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), and Vitamin A deficiency are the leading causes of preventable blindness in children.

Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital, located in Chennai, has expanded its footprint in the Tricity region by purchasing five eye hospitals, including two in Chandigarh, two in Panchkula, and one in Mohali. Units of Mirchia's Laser Eye Clinic, JP Eye Hospital, and Dr. Monica's Eye Clinic are among them. The purchase has increased Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospitals' footprint in Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, bringing the total number of its current clinics in the country to 110.

"We have ambitious expansion plans, especially for North India and places like Punjab and Haryana," stated Dr. Adil Agarwal, CEO of Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital. We have added more than 60 units to our network in the last five years alone, and we intend to more than quadruple our present hospital network to more than 200 in the next three to four years."

It is Recognised as one of the major eye centers of the world at the XXVI International Congress of Ophthalmology, Singapore - 1990. and has several creditable achievements such as Micro Phakonit Cataract Surgery, Zyoptix treatment for correction of Myopia, Hypermetropia and astigmatism and Aberropia corrective treatment, Aberropia (a new refractive entity), Airpump technique (to remove surge during phacoemulsification), No Anesthesia Cataract Surgery.



The company has been expanding across the country through acquisitions and the establishment of additional facilities. To finance its development and the deployment of cutting-edge technology.

The firm has secured over Rs 1,000 crore from TPG Growth and Temasek in the country's largest eye care fundraising.
