Health Benefits of Fasting During Navratri

Health experts also believe that if fasting is kept for a short interval of time, then the body gets a chance to detox. However, it has often been seen that many people complain of various health problems including weakness during fasting during Navratri. Don't let this happen to you.

During Navratri, many people in different parts of the country observe a fast for 9 days while worshiping Goddess Durga for 9 consecutive days. Fasting is very beneficial not only for religion and faith but also from a health point of view.

Hydration

This is the most important thing that everyone should keep in mind whether they are fasting or not. By the time Navratri falls, it is already very hot and there is a lot of water loss from your body in the form of sweat. In such a situation, do not let the lack of water in your body. Along with this, taking more amount of fluids during fasting also helps in flushing out toxins from the body. Apart from water, you can also drink things like juice, buttermilk, coconut water.

Avoid fried

In India, eating fruit, that is, fasting food is very heavy. Fried things made from potatoes, fasting chips, papads, sago vadas, dumplings, etc. are usually eaten during the fast. But eating so much rich food together during fasting can put stress on your liver and stomach. All these things are also difficult to digest and can also cause acidity.

Avoid carbonated drinks

Different people have different opinions about this one thing, some people do not drink soft drinks or bottled carbonated drinks during fasting, while many people say that this too is only sugar and water, so what is the use of drinking it. harm. We want to tell you that drinking soft drinks during fasting is not good for your health. It is high in sugar and can increase your body's blood sugar levels during fasting.

Eat nuts

Eat mixed nuts as a snack to maintain sufficient energy in your body even after fasting. Mix walnuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, watermelon, and melon seeds and store them in a box and keep it by the side of your dining table or bed so that you can eat them in small amounts 2-3 times a day. Or whenever you feel hungry. Not only during fasting, you can do this in daily life also.

Don't eat too much at once

Often we have heard people saying that 'hey we eat only once in a fast' but no one talks about how much we eat at a time. Most people eat a lot of food together after breaking the fast in the evening, in which they eat many rich things from fruits to puree-vegetables-sweets. However, doing so is not good for your health in any way.

Avoid Heavy Workout

We would not advise you to stop working out completely while fasting, and especially if you do workouts regularly. Instead of heavy cardio or weight training, do yoga and pranayama for a few days. Do meditation and walk in the open air. It is better that you do not put too much stress on your body at once.

Power nap

You have to understand that during the fast you eat less food than on other days, then energy is also produced less than on other days, so do not waste your energy in unnecessary activities. Along with this, restore your energy by taking power naps from time to time. If you sleep for a short time once or twice a day, not only do you save energy, but you also feel more energetic after getting up after doing the show.
