Nutrition-based startup HERBgen has raised capital from the founders of boAt Aman Gupta and Sameer Mehta alongside Lenskart's co-founder Peyush Bansal.

Aman Gupta has said that he believes that the Indian nutraceutical industry is set for disruption. Whereas Peyush Bansal is of the mind that chronic diseases in India are in itself an endemic.

Founded by Pravin Rao and Suditi Bhadauria, the venture offers supplements to help prevent 95% of diseases caused by poor lifestyle choices. They have combined the wisdom of Ayurveda with the advances of modern-day research and development.

They have onboarded nutritionists, personal trainers, and wellness experts to guide, motivate and support individuals with free nutritional consultations to understand nutritional gaps within their body and supplements to intake.

The Indian nutraceutical industry is going to go from the current value of $8 million to $40 million by the end of 2024. A strong contender in this space, HERBgen, saw its revenues increase by 360% between October 2021 and February 2022.

They have received patents for many of their formulations. Their aim is to reach more than 100 formulations by FY23. They boost a strong research team along with a manufacturing unit in the US.
