Vienna's pony drawn carriages, a staple of road life in the Austrian capital and a famous vacation destination, have been sidelined by the coronavirus pandemic - so they are currently conveying nourishment to the old.

The carriages, or "Fiaker" as they are brought in Vienna, are partaking in a nourishment conveyance conspire in one of the city's focal areas set up by the InterContinental Hotel, itself seriously hit by lockdown estimates taken to stop the spread of the infection.

Rather than taking into account visitors, the inn's kitchens have been turning out 200-300 dinners per day for senior residents in the zone.

Conveyances are made by volunteers utilizing all way of vehicles - including by low maintenance "Fiaker" driver Christian Gerzabek.

InterContinental general chief Brigitte Trattner said carriage drivers were the first to react to a call for conveyance volunteers, with vehicle drivers and cyclists likewise joining.
