Indian diet plan for weight loss

“Indian food when cooked properly makes a very balanced diet plan”

If anyone is trying to lose weight, Indian food is not preferred as the first choice. Indian food is characterized by high carbohydrates and fats. Our two main foods, rice and chapati are rich in carbohydrates and curries are rich in fat. Both these foods increase calories, so people find it difficult to include them in their diet for losing weight. For weight loss, people prefer western food like oats, yogurts, and salad. The real problem is not with the Indian cuisine but with the process of its preparation. Indian food is full of nutrients, they not only help you in weight loss but also keep you healthy. The condition is that they should be prepared properly.

Why you should include Indian food in the diet –

Flavored Spices – Turmeric, black pepper, clove, cumin, mustard seeds not only make the dish flavorful but also enrich the dress. Due to their health benefits, these spices are also useful in the treatment of many health conditions. Their anti-inflammatory, antibacterial antioxidants properties cure chronic diseases. Spices keep you full for a long time and help in removing dirt and reducing body fat.

Healthy fats – To make curry healthy, ensure the right amount of fat in the right way. Mustard oil, coconut oil, and ghee are mostly used for preparing Indian dishes. While using all of these, if we are putting them in the right quantity, then our dishes are healthy. If you do not pay attention to the amount of oil used in the vessel, your food will be unhealthy. So try to cook food in less oil. Healthy fat increases satisfaction and prevents the consumption of non-healthy.

Nutritious cereals – We prefer having wheat chapati which is a rich source of carbohydrates. You can also opt for healthier alternatives of wheat like jawar, bajra, ragi. Chapatis made from whole grains are rich in nutrients like folate, calcium, iron, and magnesium.

Absence of processed foods – Indian food is healthy because they are made fresh at home. From chapattis to curries every food is prepared with healthy and nutritious ingredients at home. Indian food is considered more suitable than processed food for weight loss. Excessive consumption of processed food is the main reason for weight gain.

Everyone gets bored by eating the same type of food every day. Everyone desires to eat different and delicious food. For this, apart from poha, upma, idli, sabudana ki khichdi many such Indian dishes can fulfill the purpose of reducing body weight.
