Mumbai city alone has recorded 75,539 coronavirus cases and 4,371 deaths thus far

Maharashtra's biggest single-day spike recorded on 5,493 Coronavirus cases on Sunday, that shot the tally of Coronavirus patients to 1,64,626 in the State, as reported by a health official.
The State had reported over 5,000 COVID-19 cases on Friday (5,024) and Saturday (5,318) also.
At the same time 156 Coronavirus positive patients reportedly died, 6of which 0 had taken place within the last 48 hours and rest before that, owing to which the count growing to 7,429, the same official said.
Sunday also apparently witnessed that over 2,330 patients were discharged from hospitals which, Maharashtra, now pulsing with 70,607 active patients.
Mumbai city alone has recorded 75,539 coronavirus cases and 4,371 deaths thus far and the Thane division under the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), has its number rose to 1,18,732 with 5,412 fatalities.
In Nashik, 8,431 people have tested positive to date, of whom 512 have died while Pune counted 16,944 cases and 611 dead, the official readout.
1,944 cases are reported in Kolhapur with 51 deaths, so the tally of cases Aurangabad reported is 5,675 with 246 fatalities and Latur is inching towards the 1,000-mark with 955 cases and 42 deaths.
There are 2,588 cases in Akola division and 123 deaths, while Nagpur division has thus far reported 1,765 cases and 17 deaths.
Some patients who are from other states also are being treated in some hospitals in Maharashtra. There are 74 such COVID-19 cases, while 23 have died thus far, the official said.
In Maharashtra, over 5,70,475 people are subjected to home quarantine and 37,350 others under institutional quarantine.
So far, 9,23,502 people are tested within the state, he said.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray Sunday said the battle against Coronavirus can't be left halfway and urged the people of the state to follow rules and make sure the lockdown wasn't re-imposed. However, Thackeray made it clear that the lockdown curbs within the state would continue beyond June 30.

In an address to the State, Thackeray said, “Will lockdown be lifted after June 30? The clear answer is not any. we will not leave this war halfway during this final phase. The crisis isn't over yet. I'm sure that you simply will still co-operate with the govt to make sure that the lockdown isn't re-imposed.”


Maharashtra tops the tally with reference to cases also as deaths, with 7,273 fatalities and 1,59,133 infections.
