More than 5 and a half lakh people will be vaccinated for Covid 19 in its first phase in the Kolhapur district of Maharashtra next month.

More than 5 and a half lakh people will be vaccinated for Covid 19 in its first phase in the Kolhapur district of Maharashtra next month.

In this phase, the first group of people to be vaccinated includes the medical professionals of all government, semi-government as well as private health care workers in the district.

District Collector Daulat Desai today said the registration of all government doctors and health workers is complete and appealed to all doctors and staff of private health services to come forward and complete the registration process to avail the benefit.

 
District Collector Daulat Desai today appealed to all doctors and staff of private health services to register for vaccination by contacting either the Taluka Health Officer or City Health Officer or Rural Hospitals or even Primary Health Centers.

The second group of people who would be vaccinated includes frontline workers including state and central police, armed forces, home guards, civil security agencies, disaster management volunteers, and municipal employees.

The third group includes people over the age of 50 and those with other disorders. Desai said a total of 122 cold chain centers have been set up in the district for storage of the vaccines.
