▴ MoHAP Organizes the 5th Ophthalmology International conference at Dubai
More than 600 ophthalmologists and 200 nurses from various countries of the world are participating in this conference.

Al Qassimi Hospital Sharjah, one of the Ministry of Health and Prevention-run facilities (MoHAP), is organizing the 5th Al Qassimi Ophthalmology International Conference (QOIC) at Jumeirah Emirates Towers Dubai.

With the participation of more than 600 ophthalmologists from various countries of the world, and more than 200 nurses and technicians working in ophthalmology, the conference aims to discuss the latest scientific and visual surgical developments, integrate medical technology, enhance medical research, especially in the field of retinal diseases and diabetes, and conduct workshops in the vision correction domain under the supervision of international experts.

The conference is witnessing, for the first time in the UAE, cooperation with the International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS) of the American Ophthalmological Society (AOS).

In addition, the conference also includes 24 scientific sessions for discussing some 200 research papers, besides organizing a number of theoretical lectures and workshops.

Dr. Kalthoom Mohammed Al Belooshi, Director Of Hospitals Department stated that the conference represents an opportunity to exchange experiences and learn about the latest scientific and surgical developments in the field of ophthalmology, in terms of using technological technologies in surgery, discussing the latest scientific research, especially in the field of retinal diseases and diabetes by eminent doctors who have outstanding research and experience in the field of eye surgery.

On the other hand, Dr. Fatima Al Amiri, Head of the Ophthalmology Department at Al Qassimi Hospital said: “The conference is witnessing the attendance of about 100 ophthalmology experts to discuss scientific research papers in 24 scientific sessions and to review complex cases as well”.

This is in addition to organizing workshops in the field of vision correction in the presence of international experts and consultants, including the Swiss Professor Farhad Hafeezi, and Professor Mazen Sinjab.

The conference also discussed the latest developments in the treatment of diseases and surgeries of the cornea, besides highlighting the latest developments in the treatment of correcting visual defects surgically, and retina diseases and its treatments. Dr. Al Amiri added.
