COVID-19 patients to be provided bed in hospitals by calling on the helpline number 1916.


The BMC administration has started a helpline service of 1916 to help the people of Mumbai who are suffering from Corona infection. Information on beds available in hospitals of Mumbai can be obtained by calling this number. For the convenience of the people, BMC has also prepared a dashboard where the status of COVID Hospital Beds will be updated.
The representative sitting in the 1916 control room will get all the information on the dashboard, after which the needy patient will be asked to be hospitalized according to the availability of beds. Many people in Mumbai complain that they are not getting beds in hospitals.

As the no. of coronavirus cases in Maharashtra rise to 50,231 due to a single day spike in the no. of patients to 3,041.
Maharashtra has been recording more than 2,000 new Covid-19 cases every day for the past one week. The death toll in the state has crossed the 1,500 mark.

Government has said that adequate healthcare infrastructure and facilities have been set-up across the country for COVID-19 management. These have been divided into three categories - Dedicated COVID Hospitals, Dedicated COVID Health Centres and COVID Care Centres with adequate number of isolation beds, ICU beds and other facilities.
Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said, a total of 968 Dedicated COVID Hospitals have been identified across the country with over 2 lakh 50 thousand beds. He said, over 2,000 dedicated COVID Health Centres with over 1 lakh 76 thousand beds and over 7,000 COVID Care Centres with over 6 lakh 46 thousand beds have been identified.

Speaking about the protective equipment, Dr Harsh Vardhan said, the country is now making sufficient number of N95 masks and PPE through the ramped up domestic manufacturing sector. He further informed that States and Union territories as well as Central Institutions have been provided with around over one crore N-95 masks and around 72 lakh Personal Protective Equipment.

On Sunday the country reported 6,767 new coronavirus infections, India's biggest one-day increase. Government data shows the number of coronavirus cases in the world’s second-most populous country are doubling every 13 days or so, while the government has begun easing lockdown restrictions. India has reported more than 131,000 infections, including 3,867 deaths.
