Nourish You has raised $2million to Invest in R&D and Strengthen its Market Presence

Nourish You has raised $ 2 million to strengthen its business by investing in all aspects of it, with the goal of making the world a healthier place by providing nutritious superfoods.

Nourish You has raised $2million in a seed funding round from Triumph Group’s Y Janardhana Rao, Darwinbox’s founder Rohit Chennamaneni,  Zerodha’s founder Nikhil Kamath, Gruhas’ founder Abhijeet Pai and KIMS Hospitals’ CEO Abhinay Bollineni, among others.

The firm will use the funding (raised) to double its investment in research and development for new products and diversify its portfolio. Additionally, the firm will allocate capital for marketing and branding, recruit staff, and improve both its distribution and market presence.

Mr. Rakesh Kilaru established Nourish You in 2015 with the help of Krishna Reddy and Sowmya Reddy. They sell homegrown Quinoa and Chia based products including nut mixes, edible seeds, flour and meal mix. The startup offers these goods online and through other e-commerce sites, including Flipkart, Big Basket, and Amazon.

“Having personally experienced the benefits of Quinoa and Chia- we launched Nourish You to introduce Superfoods to Indian consumers.  As India’s foremost Superfood brand, we are confident of driving the category’s growth in a sustainable manner,” said, Rakesh Kilaru, cofounder and CEO of Nourish You.

With 5000 acres of Quinoa and Chia farms across Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh, they market themselves as a clean label and vegan brand.

“From getting the mother seed, government approvals, to field trials across India and finally large-scale cultivation of Quinoa and Chia." As a category-creating brand, Nourish You’s proposition of homegrown Quinoa and Chia seeds is attractive,” said Rohit Chennamaneni, cofounder of Darwinbox.
