UP CM directs to prepare special strategy for COVID control in Lucknow, Kanpur city, Meerut district

In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to prepare a special strategy for COVID control in Lucknow, Kanpur city and Meerut districts. These districts have seen the surge in the number of new COVID cases recently.

The Chief Minister said that the state has been able to control the spread of the pandemic to a great extent.

This is a good sign that the number of active cases has come down during the last one week. It clearly shows that the strategy with regards to Corona control has been effective.

It was reported that the strategy of UP Government for curbing the spread of infection is providing positive results now.

Despite having the highest number of COVID tests per day in the country which is more than 1. 5 lakh per day positivity rate is coming down and the recovery rate has reached 84.75 per cent. From 18th of this month, the number of new COVID cases is less than the patients recovered per day. On Monday also 3,838 new active cases were found in the state and 5,382 patients were discharged after full recovery.

The Chief Minister has appointed special officers in those 16 districts which have more than 100 new cases per day. One Principal Secretary, one Special Secretary, one health specialist and one medical education expert is camping in these districts. State currently has 53,953 active COVID patients and with 60 new deaths the toll of deaths due to the deadly virus has reached 5,652.

The recovery rate of Covid patients in Uttar Pradesh has remarkably climbed to over 84 per cent and there is a significant decline in new cases. Also, the number of people getting cured continues to remain higher than the number of people getting infected with the virus in the last 24 hours.

The additional chief secretary, medical and health, Amit Mohan Prasad said that in the last 10 days the number of people getting cured is more than those getting afflicted with the virus.

He said, although the numbers are encouraging but people need to exercise extreme precaution now which can help the government in its battle against the highly contagious virus.

In last 24 hours state recorded 4,403 fresh Covid cases, against which 5,656 people got cured and discharged from hospital or came out of home isolation. In all 3,25,888 people have been discharged. 77 persons died on Sunday while 5594 persons have lost their lives since the outbreak of novel coronavirus pandemic in the state.
