Pristyn Care and Impact Guru Foundation join hands to sponsor cataract surgery for underprivileged

Impact Guru Foundation (IGF) has partnered with Pristyn Care to launch the initiative ‘Save the Sight’ campaign.

According to estimates, cataract accounts for between 50 and 80 percent of bilateral blindness occurrences in India, an eye ailment that can be fatal. Pritsyn Care co-founder Harsimarbir Singh said, “The treatment gap in India is huge - in some rural areas, there is often just one doctor per 30,000 people.”

Together, healthcare company Pristyn Care and the Impact Guru Foundation will use crowdfunding to gather money to pay for cataract surgery for the less fortunate as part of the "Save the Sight" campaign. The goal of "Save the Sight" is to save the sight of the more than 2 million people who need cataract surgery but cannot afford it. Eighty percent of the 3.8 million Indians who acquire cataracts each year go permanently blind. Pristyn Care has taken a step towards assisting citizens of the nation in clearing their vision and appreciating their surroundings.

Anyone with a BPL card or belonging to a household with less than Rs 20,000 per month income can register for the program. Pristyn Care strives to promote accessibility and higher quality care by having a significant presence in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. By working with Impact Guru Foundation on the 'Save the Sight' program, they hope to offer surgical care to qualified individuals from underserved communities who are suffering from cataracts.
