▴ Recovery rate of COVID closes to 82% in Karnataka, 8,191 new cases found
Better coordination between Health and Medical Education Departments will further streamline government's effort to fight against Covid-19

In Karnataka, the total number of Covid-19 positive cases have increased to 7,26,106 with the addition of 8,191 new cases yesterday. 10,421 people have recovered in the State and the total number of recoveries have gone up to 6,02,505. The recovery rate is around 82 per cent in the State. 87 patients lost their life and the total fatalities have increased to 10,123.

There are 1,13,459 active cases under treatment across the State and among them 919 are in ICU. The State conducted 1,06,241 covid tests yesterday and the total number of tests have increased to 61,37,221.

After getting both the portfolios of Health and Medical Education departments in the recent cabinet reshuffle, Minister Dr K.Sudhakar has said that better coordination between Health and Medical Education Departments will further streamline government effort to fight against Covid-19. He further said that there are certain technical issues in the Medical Education department and Health and Family Welfare Department.

At district level District Health Officers are reporting to the Health Minister and Heads of the Medical colleges are reporting to the Medical Education Minister.

There exists a lack of coordination.The Minister said that the government will sort out the issue and provide better health care services to fight against the Covid-19.
