Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal had handed over two robots for food and medicine to the principal of Assam Medical College and Hospital in Dibrugarh

Remote-controlled robots would deliver food, medicines and other necessary goods to the Covid-19 patients in Assam hospital.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had handed over two robots for food and medicine to the principal of Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh at a function held at John Berry White auditorium of AMCH.

The Assam CM handed over the robots to the government medical college and hospital as a part of Covid-9 infrastructure equipment grant sponsored by Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, Rotary Club of Dibrugarh and Rotary Club of Dhaka Royal, Bangladesh under the support of Global Grant.

A government press release stated that the remotely controlled robotic vehicles have been designed for delivering food, medicines and other necessary goods to the Covid-19 patients and the patients with other extremely contagious diseases inside the isolation chambers of the quarantine facilities.

Arunjyoti Borgohain Yantrabot Technologies Pvt Limited has designed the robots.

Sonowal said that the YANTRABOT robots will have a huge role in rendering care to the patients in the hospitals. Talking about the nationwide Covid-9 vaccination drive, the Assam Chief Minister hailed all the health workers and frontline workers for dealing with the deadly virus pandemic with conviction and valour. He also thanked the various government departments and organizations for their contributions towards fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and the resultant initiatives in the field of science and technology made a tremendous contribution towards tackling the pandemic,” Sonowal said.
