Coffee or tea is among the most popular drink around the world. It is the first thing that is required to jumpstart your day. It makes you alert and sharpens your mind. Moderation is the key aspect of our whole life, whatever we eat, it should be in moderation so that we can avoid any harmful side effects which can be caused by overeating or undereating.

High coffee intake can badly affect brain

A research was conducted on coffee to know its impact on the brain. Researchers found out that "higher coffee consumption was significantly associated with reduced brain volume. Drinking more than six cups of coffee a day may put you at risk of brain diseases like dementia and stroke. The research provides vital insights about heavy coffee consumption and brain health.”

Sipping water along with coffee

To keep your body hydrated, you can sip some water along with the coffee. This will help in some or the other way. One or two cups of coffee are the standard recommended daily coffee consumption. But if you are having more than this amount, then it's high time to think about its alternative.

Dementia

Dementia is a medical condition that is characterized by impaired ability to remember, think or make a decision that interferes with doing everyday activities. Its most common type is Alzheimer's disease.

Signs and symptoms

People with dementia often have problems with memory, attention, communication, reasoning, judgment, problem-solving, and visual perception beyond typical age-related changes in vision.

Etiology

Dementia is caused by damage to or loss of nerve cells and their connections in the brain. Depending on the area of the brain that's damaged, dementia can affect people differently and cause different symptoms. Dementias are often grouped by what they have in common, such as the protein or proteins deposited in the brain or the part of the brain that's affected. Some diseases look like dementias, such as those caused by a reaction to medications or vitamin deficiencies, and they might improve with treatment.

Risk factors 

Depression, smoking, alcohol addiction head trauma, sleep disturbances, vitamin, and nutritional deficiencies, and cardiovascular risk factor. Family history and down syndrome are some of the factors that cannot be altered.
