Chhattisgarh goes for mass testing of samples for Coronavirus

In Chhattisgarh, sample collection centers will be established in various urban and rural areas to identify Corona positive patients.

State Health Department has directed the Chief Medical and Health Officers of all the districts to start a sufficient number of sample collection centers as soon as possible. These centers will be established in places where people can reach conveniently. In these centers, maximum possible samples of persons suffering from cough, cold and fever will be collected.

Meanwhile, the Chhattisgarh government has classified one hundred and twelve development blocks in the state as the Red zones, while, 32 as orange zones to contain the spread of corona virus. The state's health secretary Niharika Barik Singh had issued a notification regarding the classification of COVID-19 zones last evening.

105 people have been identified in Chhattisgarh with Coronavirus on Tuesday. At the same time, one has died. While 73 patients have been discharged after recovering. Health Department informed that eighteen in Bilaspur, Sukma, Narayanpur, twelve in Surguja, nine in Raipur, eight in Balrampur, seven in Rajnandgaon, three in Kondagaon, two each in Raigad, Korba, Kanker, Durg, Gariaband, Surajpur, Jashpur, Bastar and Dantewada, one patient each.

All are being admitted for treatment. The department said that the 74-year-old victim of Raipur was referred to Ambedkar Hospital from a private hospital after being infected with corona along with other diseases including pneumonia. Where he died during treatment. Here 25 patients from Raipur, eleven from Bilaspur, thirteen from Balrampur, seven from Rajnandgaon, six from Narayanpur, two from Bemetra, Gariaband, two from Kanker, one each from Kabirdham, Korba, Janjgir Champa, Mungeli, Surajpur and Bijapur are healthy after being discharged. 

Meanwhile, Health Ministry said, In the last 24 hours, a total of 17,989 people were cured of COVID, taking the total cumulative number of recovered cases among COVID-19 patients to 5,71,459 and the recovery rate to 63.02% today. There are 3,11,565 active cases and they are all under medical supervision, either in-home isolation or in-hospital care. There are 2,59,894 more recovered cases than active cases. India’s fatality rate has further dropped to 2.62% owing to the effective clinical management of COVID-19 patients. With 853 labs in the government sector and 353 private labs, the total number of testing labs is 1206 as on date. During the last 24 hours, 2,86,247 samples have been tested. The cumulative number of samples tested, as of now is 1,20,92,503. The testing per million for India is consistently rising. Today it has touched 8762.7
