The Story of Dr Tvacha Clinic

One player that has been a cornerstone of the Indian cosmetic market is Dr Tvacha Clinic. Know how Dr Karkhanis went from being a chess prodigy at age 4 to the beauty partner of Indian Miss World Manushi Chillar.

Would you believe that India ranks fourth in the aesthetic plastic surgery list?

In a survey conducted by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the US had the most surgeries (18.6%) followed by Brazil (10.7% )and South Korea (5.3%). India had a 4.3% share in this list. In the same survey India topped the list for the most number (36.5%) of Total Body and Extremities Procedures conducted in the world, this includes surgeries like body lifts. The number of aesthetic surgeries in India has increased by 50% over the years. In 2019, the Indian dermatological market was valued at $129 billion with an estimated CAGR of 8.22%.

One player that has been a cornerstone of the Indian cosmetic market is Dr Tvacha Clinic. Started in 2005 by Dr Amit Karkhanis, it is a laser and cosmetic clinic spread across India. At age 4, Dr Karkhanis was a chess prodigy and played at the national level. While practising chess against a computer, he fell in love with technology. Years later just like his parents, he too chose medicine for his career. He completed his studies in cosmetic dermatology and trichology.

He then travelled the world to acquire the latest and most advanced machines for his customers. Dr Tvacha Clinic offered a range of products from laser hair removal to acne and dark spots removal. They also provided lip fillers and skin brightening solutions. From 2016 to 2019, Dr Tvacha Clinic was the beauty partner for Femina Miss India. They were behind Manushi Chillar’s victory at Miss World after 17 years. In 2020, Dr Tvacha Clinic was partnered with LIVA Miss Diva 2020.

Will the growing acceptance of cosmetic surgery boost Dr Tvacha Clinic’s growth? Another Asian country where cosmetic surgeries are widely accepted is South Korea. In 2011, 6.5 lakh surgeries were conducted in South Korea. The numbers have considerably increased. With many parents gifting their kids surgery as graduation presents, the market has expanded and in turn, helped the Korean economy expand as well.

Will India with its rise in working women and high disposable income be the new Asian country to adopt cosmetic surgeries on a wide scale?
