Importance of CD4 count
Dr. Payal informs, “Any virus causes immunity to activate especially T cells who fight against bacteria, virus, and fungi. There are two types of T cells mainly -
CD8 - is very important to fight against viruses by forming antibodies. However, sometimes the virus overpowers these CD8 cells and causes infection. These viruses enter the T cells and multiply at a faster rate causing infection. The normal range of T cells is 8000- 1300 however when you are infected with HIV, the CD4 cells start destroying the virus and multiply at a faster rate. Hence CD4 cells start reducing in the body. Hence, this CD4 count is important as your immunity is low and a person cannot fight any infection. There are many infections you can be attacked by bacteria and fungi.”
Effect of medicines on CD4 cells
Dr. Sharma states, “Medicines help in boosting CD4 cells by stopping the multiplication of the virus and thereby boosting immunity. This repair and rebuild CD4 to fight infection through medicines.”

Dr. Sharma informs, As your immune system is weak, there are many viruses, bacteria, and fungi that can cause infections in the body. The infections are -
