Valentines Day: Fall in love with yourself

Celebrate self-love this Valentine's Day by prioritizing and caring for your physical and mental well-being. And if you want to change, do it for yourself, not for others.

Valentine's Day is celebrated on 14th February. It is the day of celebrating love with your loved ones; partners or crushes by pampering them, giving those gifts, and making them feel special. But, moreover this is the day of love, and one should learn to love themselves more.

Self-love is important for leading a healthy and happy life. Each person has flaws, but loving yourself despite those flaws can make positive changes in your life.

Physical aspect

These days, beauty standards are high among youngsters, and they criticize people who don't match up to their standards. People who are obese, dark in complexion, too thin, have vitiligo, are handicapped or poor and can't buy branded stuff always try to fit in to seek validation from others. This is wrong, you should accept yourself as you are, and no matter what, you should love yourself because none of these problems are your fault. Adding nutritious meals to your diet and practicing yoga or doing regular exercises help your body stay fit, healthy, and glowing, which automatically brings positivity and confidence to you.

Mental aspect

These days, there is a lot of competition going on in almost every aspect of our lives, be it academics, careers, or money. Most parents compare their child's academic performance to that of other children, and young adults are constantly under pressure to have a successful career and earn a lot of money. In addition to that, maintaining good relationships is also a task; all these things add up to loads of stress, anxiety, and depression, and sometimes withdrawal from social life as well. Everybody makes mistakes, but learn from them and don't carry the burden with you. Stop comparing, Setting a limit to your goal and being clear about what you want can help you make realistic goals and achieve them to get satisfaction and peace of mind.

Loving yourself can be the first step towards success. So, when you start loving yourself, everything starts changing in your life for the better. When you carry yourself well, don't let criticism affect you, and are clear about what you want, there won't be any pressure. All of this gives you the strength and confidence to perform well everywhere.

“Love yourself first, and everything else falls in line.” – Lucille Ball
