Which nutrients are necessary for the plate of patients recovering from the corona?

Any kind of disease not only reduces nutrition in your body but also affects immunity. So when you are recovering from that disease, the first need is to bring back that lost nutrition and immunity.

According to health experts, there should be more protein in the diet of patients at present.

Covid Patients Diet: People of all ages were getting infected in the second wave of coronavirus. While some are showing mild symptoms, many more serious patients are also coming forward. Some people are taking care of patients remotely while staying at home, while many patients are also admitted to hospitals. Health experts have issued guidelines for those people who are currently recovering from the infection of this dangerous virus. According to this, a healthy and nutrient-rich diet will help patients recover quickly. Let us know in detail –

Protein: According to health experts, there should be an excess of protein in the diet of patients at present. 50% of the food on their plate should be supplemented with branched-chain amino acids. If this is not possible, according to the digestive capacity of the patients, fresh curd, paneer, or boiled eggs can also be given to them. Protein is helpful in increasing muscle loss and the strength of respiratory muscles.

Carbs: Carbs in the plate should not exceed 100 to 150 grams, otherwise the pressure on the respiratory system may increase. Instead, give preference to pulses, milk, and vegetables. Avoid fruit juices as well. Also, limit the intake of calories.

Fat: The dosage of fat can be increased to maintain the calories in the body. . This will improve the immune response and reduce inflammation.

Minerals and Vitamins: Health experts also recommend the intake of multi-vitamins to help patients recover from infection quickly. Give importance to food rich in vitamins B, C, and D, zinc, and selenium in the diet.

Probiotics: Probiotics are responsible for healthy gut bacteria in the body. Also, they are also helpful in improving immunity.

Fluids and salts: Usually, there is a lack of water in the body even in fever, so corona patients should take more fluids. Drink buttermilk, soup, coconut water, salted lemonade, and ORS.

The effect of corona lasts for several months, due to which people may complain of loss of taste or difficulty in swallowing food. So eat less solid food. At the same time, give soft and warm food to the patients who have a cough or sore throat.

Post COVID-19 care: This diet will increase immunity, will lead to faster recovery

Research has shown that even the common symptoms of Covid-19 can cause significant damage to the heart, lungs, and brain. Be it covid-19 or any other common infection, it weakens your immune system. During this time, your body needs a special recovery diet to meet the deficiency of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
