Total 94, 388 patients are under treatment

5,930 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Kerala yesterday even as 7,836 patients have recovered from the disease. 4,767 people were infected through contact and the source of infection of 195 was not traceable. There are 195 healthcare workers among those infected.

22 recent deaths were confirmed on Monday as being caused by Covid taking the death toll in the State to 1,025. 

The district-wise figures for those who tested positive for Coronavirus is Kozhikode 869, Malappuram 740, Thrissur 697, Thiruvananthapuram 629, Alappuzha 618, Ernakulam 480, Kottayam 382, Kollam 343, Kasargod 295, Palakkad 288, Kannur 274, Pathanamthitta 186, Idukki 94 and Wayanad 35. Of those diagnosed with the disease, 48 have arrived from overseas and 86 from other states.

The number of contact cases from the districts are Kozhikode 796, Malappuram 584, Thrissur 620, Thiruvananthapuram 415, Alappuzha 465, Ernakulam 378, Kottayam 320, Kollam 315, Kasaragod 246, Palakkad 203, Kannur 224, Pathanamthitta 108, Idukki 64 and Wayanad 29.

The count of infected healthcare workers from the districts are Thiruvananthapuram 76, Ernakulam 23, Thrissur 19, Kottayam 17, Kannur 13, Palakkad & Kozhikode 10 each, Malappuram & Kasaragod 7 each, Alappuzha 5, Kollam & Idukki 3 each, and Pathanamthitta 2.

The district-wise figures of patients who tested negative yesterday is Thiruvananthapuram 830, Kollam 426, Pathanamthitta 151, Alappuzha 594, Kottayam 455, Idukki 29, Ernakulam 1,018, Thrissur 1,090, Palakkad 444, Malappuram 915, Kozhikode 1,306, Wayanad 103, Kannur 130 and Kasaragod 345.

So far 1,99,634 persons have been cured of Covid in the State and at present, there are 94,388 patients undergoing treatment.

There are 2,81,413 people totally under observation in various districts of the state, 2,53,104 under home or institutional quarantine and 28,309 in hospitals. 3,075 persons were admitted to the hospitals today.

38,259 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Till now, a total of 36,28,429 samples have been sent for testing, including 2,13,108 samples from high-risk groups as part of Sentinel Surveillance.

There are 664 hotspots in Kerala now.
