15 new cases have added to the existing 30 to make the total number of cases to 45 in Ladakh.

In the Union Territory of Ladakh, the rise of COVID-19 active cases is worrying the administration. In the last four days, 15 new cases have added to the existing 30 to make the total number of cases to 45 in Ladakh.

After the ease in regulations effected, a total of 15 new Active COVID-)))19 cases have been added to the tally of UT, in four days . Since 1st June, 13 new cases in Kargil, and two in Leh, to make the total a worry for the administration.

On the other hand, after a lapse in quarantaine regulation, the Leh district administration has placed hundreds of people including top officials of UT administration, political leaders and journalists in Home Quarantine. After Former Union Minister Mr Namgyal's death followed by his samples testing COVID positive, the Administration has completed sample collection of co-passengers of Mr. Namgyal in Delhi to Leh flight.

The District administration has so far listed about 170 people who came in direct contact with his family. The Administration has set up two enquiry Committees to find out the lapses.

Meanwhile, Medical Superintendent of SNM Hospital Dr Tsering Samphel said that the hospital has followed the SOPs while handing out the mortal remains of Mr. Namgyal.
Meanwhile coronavirus cases in India saw a record single-day spike in the no. of cases to 9,304 on Thursday, making the total tally rise to 2,16,919, while the death toll rose to 6,075 with 260 new fatalities, according to the Union health ministry. This is the first time the country has recorded more than 9,000 new cases in a single day.

The health ministry said that the number of active COVID-19 cases in the country stood at 1,06,737 while 1,04,106 people have been discharged and one patient has migrated.
“Thus, around 47.99% patients have recovered so far,” a senior official said.

Maharashtra has reported the maximum no. of deaths i.e. 2,587 fatalities till date, followed by Gujarat with 1,122 deaths, then Madhya Pradesh with 371, West Bengal with 345, Uttar Pradesh with 229, Rajasthan with 209, Tamil Nadu with 208, Telangana with 99 and Andhra Pradesh with 68 deaths.

The death toll has reached to 53 in Karnataka followed by Punjab 47, Jammu and Kashmir 34, Bihar 25, Haryana 23, Kerala 11, Uttarakhand 8 and seven in Odisha.
