Indian kitchens are full of valuable herbs and spices that have proven wonders for our overall health. Spices, made from the bark, root, bud or berry of a plant, are generally used dried rather than fresh, which means their essential oil content is highly concentrated. Researchers have found that they possess powerful antioxidant and antibiotic properties that benefit overall health. Turmeric – Turmeric has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that make it an excellent spice for boosting immunity and skin health. According to a study, the active compound in turmeric called curcumin may help decrease the level of glucose in the blood, further reducing diabetes-related complications. You can drink turmeric milk or golden milk.

Garlic - Consumption of garlic has shown increased serum insulin in trials. So, make sure you are adding enough garlic to your daily diet.
