Of the three types of food, Sattva, Rajas and Tamas, it is the Sattva that has the highest guna and benefits. Ayurveda promotes all of us to have a sattvic diet. This diet is meant to keep our energy levels up, make us feel calm and also allow for mental and bodily peace. When one says sattvic food, one generally means food that is prepared fresh and is rich in nutrients.

Foods like whole grains, fruits, sprouts, plant-based milk, legumes and pulses are sattvic in nature. Foods like non-veg foods, tea, coffee, alcohol, and packaged foods are not sattvic in nature. Even leftovers are considered non-sattvic. 

Weight loss

As a sattvic diet is rich in nutrients and low in fat which can help you lose your weight faster. It also improves your metabolism to shed the excess fat from your body. 

Immunity boosting

Since 40% of all foods in a sattvic diet are vegetables and fruits, it lends great immunity to one’s body. It takes care of providing you with essential nutrients, vitamins, antioxidants and fibre. 

Prevents Illness

Sattvic foods are rich in fibre and nutrients that can fight many illnesses from the common cold to cancer. It contains antioxidants that help prevent chronic diseases. It also helps reduce the risk of heart diseases and cholesterol.

Many guarantee that within 1-month people will see their energy levels rise up. It will reduce the feeling of lethargy and laziness. It will not only raise your productivity level but also help boost happiness levels.
