5 Ways to boost immunity as per Ayurveda

A strong immune system is crucial to keep infectious diseases at bay. Our immune system acts as a natural defense system that protects us from infections, including viral diseases. Here are a few things that can help you improve your immunity.

Pranayama - Practicing pranayama in winters or otherwise also can strengthen your respiratory system. Kapalbharti and Bhastrika are two breathing exercises that you can do to cleanse the lungs and stimulate the immune system. For any respiratory system-related ailment or digestive issue, Nadi Shodhana is the best.

Chyawanprash - Chyawanprash is made with a variety of herbs and roots that can keep you warm from the inside and reduce the risk of infection. All its ingredients are naturally sourced. Many studies suggest it can boost your immune system provided you take it every day with a glass of warm water or as it is. For best results, consume it twice daily. 

Herbal tea – Replace your regular tea with herbal tea made of herbs and spices. Herbs and spices are powerful antioxidants. They are anti-inflammatory and immunity boosters. Regular consumption of tea (twice daily) made from tulsi, clove, ginger, cardamom, and other herbs and spices is enough to boost your immune system. 

Golden milk – Milk boiled with turmeric has got immense health benefits. Turmeric has strong antioxidant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory properties that can prevent inflammation and promote the growth of brain cells. You can have it before going to bed at night. It can help you reduce fatigue, itchy throat.

Oil in nostrils - As per Ayurveda, applying a few drops of ghee, sesame oil, or coconut oil into your nostrils can prevent the entry of infection-causing viruses and bacteria. This also clears the nasal blockage. You can apply it at night before going to bed. You just have to put two drops of oil in your nostril and lie down for a few minutes.
