As winters have started, outside cold weather combined with dry indoor weather can damage your hair leading to split ends and breakage. It can happen to all hair types. In order to have fabulous hair this winter, here are a few precautions to take.

Wash with cold water – Washing your hair with cold water helps retain the moisture of the scalp. Instead, if you wash your hair with hot water, you may end up dehydrating your scalp that can cause dandruff. Therefore, try to use normal cold water or lukewarm water to wash your hair.

Oiling your hair - Oiling is the best conditioner for your hair. It provides better blood circulation on your scalp and also brings back your hair follicles to life. It is like food for your hair. You can use any oil of your choice, such as coconut oil, almond oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, onion oil, black seed oil and others.

Hair masks - There are variety of hair masks available in the market that can treat specific hair problems. From softening of hair to treating dandruff to hair loss, hair masks give extra care to the hair. These hair masks are made up of two or more ingredients that help solve the root cause of the problem. Just like face masks, hair masks provide the traces with vitamins, minerals and keep them healthy.

Black coffee – This can help you get shiny hair.  After shampooing and conditioning your hair, leave your hair in strong black coffee for about 15 minutes and rinse off with plain water. Coffee can be a fantastic scalp cleanser as it can remove dullness from your hair.

Yogurt for dandruff - Dandruff is a very common problem during winter. This is due to dry scalp that can rouse dead cells. Regular oiling can be a good choice to treat this, another can be to apply a mixture of yogurt and lemon juice. Apply the mixture of yogurt and lemon juice on the scalp and let it sit for 30 minutes. Wash off the hair with a mild shampoo and conditioner. This can also help remove itchiness from hair.
