In the wake of the lockdown relief in a major part of India, sixty people have tested positive for coronavirus in a single 200-meter lane in Kanpur. According to the authorities, a corporator staying in the locality was the one to catch the infection.
"In a bylane of Vidyut Colony located in Barra police headquarters area, 60 people have tested COVID-19 positive since Thursday. Most of them haven't shown any signs of the infection," Chief medic Dr Ashok Shukla was quoted as saying.
Shukla insists that the local corporator returned ill from Gorakhpur and alongside his representative had tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday.

"People who came in touch with the corporator and his representative were traced and during a span of 4 days, 60 locals were found to be COVID-19 positive. Of them, 20 are women. The densely populated bylane is barely 15 feet wide and almost 200 meter-long," Shukla said, sharing that the majority household earns living by selling milk, vegetables, and fruits.

They have been admitted to Rama Medical College and therefore the area has been declared as a hotspot, he said.
Ranjeet Singh, SHO of Barra police headquarters further told reporters that the residents of the bylane refrain from maintaining social distancing norms and are often seen traveling in groups and without wearing a mask.
