7 Easy tips to improve mental wellbeing

Mental wellbeing helps us to face challenges, solve problems and achieve our goals. Improve your mental wellbeing with these 6 tips

Having good mental well-being helps us to deal with challenges, solve problems and achieve our goals. Maintaining good mental wellbeing also reduces our vulnerability to mental health difficulties and challenges in life. Here are six easy tips for better mental wellbeing:

Exercise regularly – To stay physically fit and mentally alert, one should exercise 5 hours a week. All of us should spare 30 mins daily for exercise. High-intensity exercise is not required, a simple walk or jog in the fresh air will serve the purpose. Exercising releases “happy hormones” into your body. For example, you can take the stairs instead of the lift. This is also a kind of physical exercise.

Manage your time - Plan your time well so that you can complete your tasks on time. Break large tasks into smaller manageable parts. While executing your tasks, don’t be fully into it. Take your meal on time along with frequent breaks in between continuous work.

Speak to someone - Seeking help is not a sign of weakness. Share your worries with someone you trust. You can reach out to your friends, family, or mentor for any doubts or troubles. It's better to seek help rather than make a wrong decision which can amplify the problems.

Think positive - Changing your mindset and having a positive attitude can make you happier. A positive attitude helps you cope more easily with the daily affairs of life. It brings optimism into your life and makes it easier to avoid worries and negative thinking. It brings constructive changes in life.

Sleep well - Getting enough sleep (7 to 9 hours daily for an adult) is key to better concentration and focus. While sleeping, our body and mind relax. Our mind gets healed and repair. Sleep deficiencies can increase the risk of heart diseases, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and stroke. Sleeping well can improve concentration and productivity.

Do more of what makes you happy - Take a break to do what you enjoy can refresh you to better handle your problems. This helps build your confidence. Doing something which we like gives us inner happiness. This improves our immune system and health. Being happy also leads to better mental health.
