A new dimension to Elderly Health with IndiMac Healthcare

Elderly care needs special attention, especially in cases of post-hospitalization care and post-operative care. Ritesh Macwan speaks about his journey with IndiMac Healthcare and provides a needed dimension to home health and elderly care to patients across the nation.

Ritesh Macwan is the Founder & CEO of IndiMac Health Care in Anand based startup. IndiMac Healthcare gives Healthcare Experience and Assisted Living for Patients including Elders with Chronic Diseases, Children, mothers, and all the community after hospitalization or when required healthcare services at home to avoid hospital visits.

Journey of IndiMac Healthcare

Ritesh Macwan says, “I am from a medical and healthcare fraternity. I have worked for decades in hospitals. Being a healthcare professional, I had the opportunity to interact with a lot of patients. We have interacted with many hospitals discharged patients and come across their concerns about medications post-discharge, diet, post-hospitalization care, and post-operative care. Thorough research was done and it was found that chronic illnesses are constantly increasing in India with hospitalized patients. These patients need medical frequent attention after discharge with proper nursing and supportive care post-discharge. This is the pain point of people after discharge and we came to the conclusion that we should create some healthcare products for services for the doorstep.

With busy lives and shortage of time, waiting time and admission into hospitals is very painful. So, we came up with patient healthcare services at the doorstep for providing comfort and convenience. This is how we started in the middle of 2019 and since then we are providing a healthcare facility to the patients.”

USP of IndiMac Healthcare

Ritesh Macwan states, “This is our second start-up and we are already in the education and para-medical field.”

Qualified manpower

The biggest challenge in the healthcare industry is to get qualified and trained manpower. In our case, we already have a paramedical institution where they are giving training and education to paramedical staff. So, we are giving training as well to nursing and paramedical staff. This helps us in getting the right manpower at the right time.

Background verification

We have a stringent mechanism for verifying the healthcare providers which is very essential for safety. Police verification and background check are extremely important.

Tech platform

At the same time, we have developed a tech platform where clients can book services at any point in time. So, we can become an aggregator provider where the service provider can register our name on the platform and the client can book the services.

These are our 3 USPs and we are also taking care of affordability so that we are not more expensive.”

Lives touched so far by of IndiMac Healthcare

Ritesh Macwan informs, “Almost, we have touched 1500 patients so far.”

Funding support

Ritesh Macwan states, “We have been funded by the Angel Investors and we got the funding of 1 million dollars.”

Compatibility with app

Ritesh Macwan says, “Sometimes, it has been observed that the elder population may not be comfortable with the app. So, we have a website where they can access it. Caretakers and service providers also face this problem when they are not very comfortable with the app. So, we give a lot of training so that they are comfortable with the app. We have not been dependent only on the technology part but at the same time technology is important for scaling the business. Also, anybody can pick up the phone and call so that they can be in touch on what's app and calls.”

Revenues in FY 2022-2023

Ritesh Macwan informs, “In 2021, it was nearly 17 lacs in the 1st year. 2nd year -55 lacs and this year we are planning to close as 2.5cr.”

Funds utilized by IndiMac Healthcare

Ritesh Macwan states, “We are recently planning to launch in Surat, and very soon we are going to launch in Ahmedabad as well. So, for this financial year, we have plans to expand in Surat and Ahmedabad at least.”

Goals and Future Expansion Plans

Ritesh Macwan further explains, “ We have a lot of leads and inquiries from other parts of India. Our goal is to expand to at least 50 cities by 2025. We are aiming to become a unicorn startup.”

Learnings by Entrepreneur

Ritesh Macwan shares, “Start early. This is the most important thing. Sometimes, young entrepreneurs are not able to make a decision whether they want to jump into entrepreneurship. So, start early and never give up, no matter what happen.”
