All you need to know about spread of monkey pox

With this, the cases of monkeypox have increased to 131 and 106 people are suspected. What is monkeypox? 

Monkeypox is an orthopoxvirus infection, a rare disease that resembles smallpox or chickenpox. The disease first appeared in monkeys in 1958, giving it the name monkeypox. In the year 1970, the first case of monkeypox was reported in a youth.

What is the cause of monkeypox? 

Monkeypox is a contagious disease that can easily spread from person to person. If a person spreads it to humans through close contact with an infected person or animal or through material contaminated with the virus. This virus is less contagious than smallpox and causes less severe illness.

What are the symptoms of monkeypox? 

The symptoms of monkeypox appear very quickly, with a mild to severe fever at first. Along with fever, the infected may feel muscle pain, stiffness, and weakness. Along with this, as the disease of monkeypox progresses, the lymph nodes of the infected patient start to swell, which is the biggest hallmark of monkeypox.

Due to monkeypox, within five days, marks of smallpox ie mother start forming in the body of the patient, due to which the patient has to face many other problems. When monkeypox occurs, the patient mainly sees the following symptoms:-

  • Fever
  • Headache
  • Muscle pain
  • Back pain
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Chills
  • Exhaustion

Wounds caused by monkeypox go through the following stages before they heal:

  • Macules
  • Papules
  • Vesicles
  • Pustules
  • Scabs

Monkeypox gets better on its own within 21 days. 

Spread of Monkey Pox

Enrique Ruiz Escudero, Member of the Assembly of the Spanish capital Madrid, said on Monday that so far 30 cases have been confirmed in the capital. Escudero says officials are investigating a link between the recent gay parade on the Canary Islands and the spread of the disease. More than 80 thousand people came to this program. Apart from this, the infection has also been reported in Madrid Sauna.

In the midst of increasing cases of monkeypox, UK health officials have informed the media in a statement that the cases of monkeypox that are coming to the fore in Britain and Europe have increased.
