Be future-ready for the new rules set for Work From Home 2021

Working from home needs good productivity and investing of quality time. Focus on working smarter from home which will make you more efficient and help you to strike a professional and personal balance in life.

Work from home is the new norm these days. To beat the coronavirus impact, the government of India has taken an initiative to issue work from home orders for nonessential service staff. The flexibility to work from home should be issued as a precautionary measure to control the spread of coronavirus. As we battle the economic impact due to coronavirus, the government is taking an initiative to support their citizens. They are proposing ensuring the beneficial working modules can help protect society from the coronavirus spread. The main goal is to offer a healthy working environment for every individual.

Employers are worried about the work from home culture

Information technology and related service industries are now worried about battling with the work from home culture. Work from home has been formalized by the government and as per the orders, allowed the employees and employers to mutually decide on the work from home culture. Let’s not forget the global clock of 8 - 9 hour shift as per the rules for working hours for employees. Is it justifiable to make it 12 hours per day for the employees for the work from home culture? Many employees have come forward and given their views in regards to the same. An overtime structure should be laid down to ease the burden of the employees.

Work from home is detrimental for the interest of workers

The idea of working from home is not worth it for the employees. Sitting confined to the home and working throughout the day can be detrimental to your health. “All work and no play makes jack a dull boy. “ The concept of work from home will not only impact the economic growth but also affect the lifestyle of the employees.

The Labour Ministry has come into action

The Labour Ministry is finalizing the rules for all the four labor codes which are as follows:

Industrial Relations Code  The Social Security Code  The Wage Code  Code of Occupational Safety, Health, and Working Conditions

The plan is to implement all four codes by April 2021 which will amalgamate with the labor laws.

Work from the home norm can have an impact on health

It is important to note that the work from the home norm is taken as a precautionary measure in the wake of rising cases of coronavirus. A notification has been passed asking all offices in the state whether private or government to function at 50% capacity. Moreover, the government has asked offices to allow employees to work from home as long as possible. However, health and other essential services have been exempted from this rule to ensure that citizens get these essential supplies for either home.

Work from the home norm can result having a great impact on your mental health. With limited interactions and staying confined at home can be difficult to cope up. Your mental health is bound to suffer a great setback due to this. Anxiety, depression, and other mental health problems can crop up with longtime work-from-home options. But to protect yourself from the coronavirus, work from home needs to be adopted as a new norm for working groups of people.

A solution to good health for work from home employees

Striking a good and healthy balance between professional and personal life is a must while working from home. It is important to streamline the number of working hours to stay productive at work. With the working from home option, we need to be more careful at work and pay attention to minute details to stand out from other employees. Your work should be given preference while at home. Do not take it casually as it may cost you a job. Investing in quality time with good productivity is the key to perfect work and great health.
