COVID-19 cases in Bihar reach to 6,475

The number of new cases of COVID-19in Bihar are crossing 10000 daily, although the speed of recovery of infected people has increased. 186 new patients have been found on Sunday. The first Saturday, 193 new infections were found, 370 patients were also infection free.

Talking about the figures so far, the number of positive cases in the state has increased to 6475, out of which 3686 have defeated the disease. However, 36 patients have died. So far, 1,20086 samples have been investigated in the state, of which 5.23 percent reported positive. The state currently has a total of 2753 active cases.

Health Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh said that a total of 193 new cases were found on Saturday. 15 new positives were found from Patna district. So far, 323 have been found infected in Patna, of which 198 have been healthy.

Apart from Patna, 14 from Bhagalpur, six from Bhojpur, six from Darbhanga, one from Jehanabad, 13 from Purnia, 16 from Banka, four from Rohtas, five from Sitamarhi, one from Buxar, two from Nawada, six from Muzaffarpur, six from Aurangabad. Two positives were received from Gopalganj, one from Madhepura, four from Kishanganj, four from Siwan and one from Lakhisarai. Apart from these, four from Kaimur, three from Araria, three from Supaul, Katihar two, 21 from Madhubani, five from Begusarai, two from Munger, p. Nine from Champaran, two from Saran, four from Gaya, 25 from Shivhar and one positive from Nalanda.

Meanwhile the Covid-19 death toll in Uttar Pradesh rose to 399 on Sunday with 14 new fatalities recorded, while the total number of cases reported in the state so far increased to 13,615 with 499 new cases of the infection.

Among the deaths registered on Sunday, 6 were from Meerut, 2 each from Agra and Sambhal and 1 each from Bulandshahr, Azamgarh, Raebareli and Hardoi, said Joint Director and State Surveillance Officer of Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme Dr Vikasendu Agrawal.

Of the new COVID-19 cases, 83 were reported in Gautam Buddh Nagar, 30 in Ghaziabad, 29 in Lucknow, 27 each in Meerut and Jaunpur, 23 in Bulandshahr, 18 in Kanpur Nagar, 17 in Aligarh and 15 each in Agra and Barabanki.

Fourteen cases were registered in Gorakhpur, 13 in Hathras, 11 in Etawah and 10 each in Farrukhabad, Mathura and Firozabad.
