▴ COVID-19 cases continue to decline in Karnataka
The test positivity rate for the day is 1.57%, while the case fatality rate for the day stood at 1.34% in the state

The Covid 19 numbers continue to decline in Karnataka for the last 14 days. The state reported 1,565 new cases, out of which Bengaluru contributed 840 fresh cases yesterday.

However Bengaluru Rural reported the lowest with only 14 new cases, which is a 72% drop over a 24-hour period. Tumakuru reported 79 new cases, Mysuru 71 cases, Chitradurga 52 cases, Belagavi 47 cases, Mandya 46 cases and Uttara Kannada 45 cases. There were 21 deaths reported yesterday in the state, out of which six were in Bengaluru urban district.

It was reported that 2363 covid patients were discharged yesterday, taking the total recoveries in the state till date to 8,22, 953. Out of the total 27,146 active cases, 746 patients are admitted to intensive care units in different hospitals across the State. As many as 99,606 tests were conducted yesterday and the test positivity rate for the day was 1.57%, while the case fatality rate for the day stood at 1.34%.

Meanwhile, India has reported less than 50,000 new daily cases for the eight continuous days. In the last 48 hours, only 41,100 persons were found to be infected with COVID in India. Daily New Cases last crossed the 50K threshold on 7th November. Apart from the successful dissemination of COVID Appropriate Behaviour among the varied population groups, this trend assumes wider significance as many countries in Europe and America continue to see a surge in their daily numbers.

In the last 24 hours, the country also registered 42,156 new recoveries which have led to a further contraction of the Active Caseload. India’s present active caseload of 4,79,216 consists of just 5.44% of India’s Total Positive Cases.
