Latest Update on COVID-19 : Kerala & Andhra Pradesh

Kerala faces new challenge, as Covid 19 cases are on a rise with more returnees from abroad and other states turning positive in last few days. Presently there are 32 active cases in the state, out of which 23 persons have travel history from neighbouring states or from abroad. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the situation is getting serious and Kerala is entering the next stage that demands high .

The State Cabinet meeting is going on in Thiruvananthapuram to decide on further action plan. The remaining exams of 10th and 12th std will begin from 26 of this month. The bus fares in the State is hiked, as the State readies for short distance bus services soon. Meanwhile 2 flights carrying expatriates, each from Kuwait and Jeddah is scheduled to arrive in Kozhikode today late night.

The flight from Doha carrying 182 passengers arrived in Thiruvananthapuram today early morning. Meanwhile, the special train from Delhi carrying stranded passengers had left for Thiruvananthapuram today and is expected to arrive here on friday.

The COVID-19 cases have gone up to 2,137 in Andhra Pradesh. At least 48 Corona Positive Cases have been recorded during the last 24 hours in Andhra Pradesh. 1142 patients have recovered and were discharged. 948 persons are under treatment across the State in various hospitals.

The Kurnool District has the highest number of 591 Corona Positive cases so far. Guntur has the second highest number with 399 positive cases. The death toll in the state has gone up to 47. Essential commodities and other items have been distributed to the families living in Red Zone areas in the Districts. Pensions have also been distributed in the respective homes of such areas. The State Government is also popularizing the AAROGYASETHU APP.
