Just as plants need a conducive environment to bloom, the kids need our hugs and loving attitude to develop into healthy human beings. Hugging children does not just help in their emotional wellbeing but physical wellbeing as well. Find out how!

The health of our kids can have a positive boost through our hugs. Did you ever think like that? Well, it might seem a bit unrelated but it has been proven by science that our hugs do not just bring smiles and giggles on the little faces but add a magical touch to their health too!

1.Immunity gets boosted – Research has enough evidence to prove that a hormone called oxytocin gets released in the body while we are hugging our child. Oxytocin is also known as the hormone of attachment or the hormone of love. It improves the parent and child bonding. Oxytocin has the capacity to provide a strong immunity shield to human bodies. If a good amount of this hormone is present in the body, then, there are lesser chances of falling ill. Also, wounds get healed faster and there are lesser inflammation tendencies in bodies that have a good level of oxytocin.

2. Better physical growth – Hugs have been described as an intangible nutrient for the body. Just as we take nutrients by eating different kinds of healthy food, our hugs activate the love hormones inside the body of our kids leading to better physical growth. Oxytocin hormone created due to hugs triggers physical growth as well.

3. Good brain development – Hugging provides sensory stimulation. This stimulation has been proven to be doing wonders in the area of cognitive and motor skills development of children. There is evidence through research studies that children who receive more hugs have faster brain growth compared to the ones who grow up with lesser hugs.

4. Emotional Stability –Increasing the number of hugs means ensuring calm and emotionally secure children. The more often we hug them, the more the assurance of safety and security. Such children do not have to crave for love and they grow up being emotionally stable individuals. They view life with more optimism.

So do not be prey to the thought process that if we shower too much love on our children or hug them too often, they will become very stubborn and remain kiddish even after growing. Science shows us a completely different picture. Since the power of hugs has been backed by research and scientific evidence, give your children your magical hugs and be the source of their overall growth.
