“Every Human Being Deserves a Better Health Care at a Better Price” says Amit Bansal, CEO, MediGence

“We are always focused around creating the best tools and technology to improve the patient experience by giving a platform that allows patient to connect with the doctors of other countries,” says Amit Bansal, CEO, MediGence.

With our global community impacted by a severe of pandemic, the importance of the healthcare technology field is at forefront now. In recent years, healthcare has become an integral part of the business ecosystem in India. Healthcare itself is a noble profession and majorly contributes to humanity. The successful healthcare entrepreneurs are making a valuable contribution to the national economies around the world. At Medicircle, we present to you, the leading CEOs of the healthcare series. We are featuring healthcare CEOs who are influential role models for younger generations.

Amit Bansal is the founder and CEO of MediGence, which is a technology driven global platform to find and access the best in class overseas medical treatment options.

3 A’s of Health Care System-Accessibility, Affordability & Availability

Amit replied, “We started in 2016, with a very simple vision to create better patient experiences, we have always been focused around allowing people to take the right health care decision, because when somebody is sick and needs immediate medical care, many times people do not know where to go, who's the best doctor for patient. So, we consider ourselves as a global organization. For us every human being is one person who deserves a better health care at a better price.”

Amit added, “We have a very robust and scalable telemedicine platform. We are perhaps one of the very few platforms that allows patients worldwide to connect with approx. 450 doctors from over 22 countries. We have assisted closely 1000 patients so far. Basically, you come, search, pay and consult with the doctor. These doctors are in Spain, Turkey, Thailand, India, Dubai, and other countries too. So, we are doing our bit to make health care accessible and also trying to help people find the best options in their country or outside the country wherever possible.”

Affordability Is About Individual Preferences

Amit says “It is important to read the pulse of the patient along with understanding the criticality of the patient's illness. For example, If a cancer surgeon in Fortis is better than hospital X, that might be offering me a lower price than what Fortis is recommending, I will not push my patient to go to the hospital X, just for the sake of money. So, Affordability cannot be talked about on its own, the quality has to be given importance,” Says Amit .

He added, “We consider ourselves as coaches as consultant because we are advisors, we know the doctors, we know their work, we've worked with them. So, we are always in the best position to recommend what is best for the patient, keeping quality and of course, their budgets. We have also a very interesting product called compelling offers. We've gone back to hospitals in about 10-15 countries and still working on it. We have come up with a pre-negotiated bundled pricing for various surgical, non-surgical procedures with unmatched benefits. If you look at the total savings when one is buying a package on MediGence.com, they save up to 30%.”

Satisfying Journey so far

Amit emphasises “We strongly believe with healthcare accessibility and using Technology, it will not only help the patient but also improve or lower down the total cost of the expense which occur while visiting a doctor.”

He added “I'm a technology guy. So, I have spent my 20 years working for technology companies. I have played multiple roles. I was the Developer in 2002, then I became the Client Manager, Project Manager, Delivery Manager, then gradually a Sales Strategy Guide. I have worked with a lot of healthcare companies as a Partner, we have implemented lot of process driven solutions, to help them improve the efficiency and the outcome. Healthcare sector has always fascinated me,”says Amit.

Happy Economy Leads to Happy World

Amit narrated “Pandemic has exposed all of us. In India per person investment in Healthcare Sector is fairly low. Its high time India needs a generous amount of spending in Healthcare Sector. The country has started realizing how important is to have adequate health care for their own people because healthy people leads to Healthy Economy, and Healthy Economy leads to Happy World.”
