Good food linked to brain development in child during pregnancy

It is a well-known fact that what you eat during pregnancy influences your child’s brain development.

Eat good, drink good, think good during pregnancy because all these positively impacts your baby’s brain development. Focussing on baby’s brain development is one of the key aspects of parental nutrition. It is imperative to know for all expecting women that the most crucial period during which the brain develops is from the second trimester of pregnancy until the baby reaches the age of two.

Eating right kind of food during this period can enhance your baby’s memory and capacity to learn. Vitamins such as folic acid,, calcium, iron, Vitamin B12, zinc, Vitamin C and D are a must during pregnancy. In-take of sufficient folic acid helps formation of healthy brain cells, with low chances of birth defects and helps prevent autism.

Having eggs is another way to boost your baby’s brain health. Eggs are loaded with protein, folate, choline and iron. Have walnuts as much as you can as these are full of healthy fats and Omega-3 fatty acids, also rich in fibre and magnesium. Include Legumes and beans in your diet. Chickpeas, peas, kidney beans are known to b rich in protein, iron, calcium and folate.
