Medical consultation and treatment in such clinics will be totally free of cost

Gujarat Government will start Deendayal clinics in towns and cities which have more than one lakh population. This was announced by Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel in Ahmedabad. He said that such medical infrastructure will offer medical services to the poor people at their doorstep.

It was reported that Deendayal clinics will be open in urban and semi-urban pockets on OPD basis which will work during 4 pm to 9 pm.

Such clinics will be in addition to the urban health centres already functioning in the state. Patients who need hospitalization will be referred to the nearest hospital by such clinics. Medical consultation and treatment in such clinics will be totally free of cost.

Gujarat Government has asked all municipal commissioners to identify places to set up such clinics with the support of state health department, municipal corporations and municipalities. Deendayal clinics will offer health services to the poor people who cannot reach urban health centres.

Meanwhile, the state recorded 1,010 new COVID-19 cases during the last 24 hours. The recovery rate has further improved to 93.13 percent. The total number of Covid-19 cases detected so far in Gujarat has reached up to 2,35,299. Out of these, 2,19,125 patients recovered. 1,190 patients recovered during the last 24 hours.

More than 90,53,000 tests have been carried out in the state till date. Maximum 215 new cases reported from Ahmedabad, while Surat recorded 166 new cases. At present total active cases in the state are 11,940, out of which 61 patients are on ventilator. 7 patients died yesterday taking the total deaths due to Covid-19 up to 4234.
