National Covid Vaccine Rollout update - Assam, WestBengal, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Kargil

7,704 sessions of COVID-19 vaccination conducted in 25 States and UTs on 3rd day of the vaccination drive
Union Health Ministry today said that a total of 7,704 sessions of COVID-19 vaccination was conducted in 25 States and Union Territories in which 1,48,266 beneficiaries were vaccinated on the third day of the launch of the world's largest COVID-19 vaccination drive on 16th of this month.

COVID-19 Vaccination begins in Kargil at District Hospital
In Ladakh, Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan kick-started COVID-19 Vaccination in Kargil at the District Hospital today. Chief Medical Officer Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir received the first shot of COVID-19 Vaccine.98 health workers are scheduled to get vaccinated on the first day today and proper care and precautions have been taken to accomplish the vaccination. In all, 2,224 health workers are going to get vaccinated in a phased manner at 23 Vaccination Centres in Kargil District during the First Phase of vaccination.

COVID-19 vaccination continues for 2nd day in Uttarakhand


In Uttarakhand, COVID-19 vaccination continued for the second day. Today 1,961 health workers were administered COVID vaccine in 34 centres across the State. Until now 4,237 health workers are inoculated with the vaccine.

More than 10,000 health workers vaccinated against Coronavirus in Chhattisgarh
In Chhattisgarh, more than 10,000 health workers have been vaccinated against Coronavirus. No major adverse event has been reported so far due to the vaccine. AIR correspondent reports, on the second day of Covid vaccination in Chhattisgarh, 5280 health workers were vaccinated yesterday. Covid vaccination was conducted at the 97 vaccination centres of the state.

The second dose of COVID-19 vaccine to be administered from Feb 15 in Uttar Pradesh
In Uttar Pradesh, the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine will be administered from 15th of February to all those who were given the first shot during the first phase of vaccination drive. The Chief Minister said that corona vaccination work is to be undertaken twice a week on Thursday and Friday and Under the first phase of the vaccination drive, corona vaccination of all health workers should be completed in the next three weeks. From 15th February 2021, the second dose of corona vaccine should be administered to all those who have been given the first shot in the 1st phase of vaccination.

Karnataka: South Western Railway starts Covid-19 vaccination drive for its health care workers

In Karnataka, the South Western Railway started the Covid-19 vaccination drive for its health care workers from yesterday. The Central Hospital in Hubballi and the Railway Hospital in Mysuru plans to vaccinate 100 health care workers every day. Our correspondent reports that about 380 railway health care workers at Hubballi and 174 from Mysuru have registered for vaccination. Dr Prajna Barapatre of Central Hospital Hubbali was the first to take the shot. There was a very good response from the health care workers of the hospital including many senior doctors. After vaccination, all were observed for 30 minutes for any adverse reaction. The railway hospital in Bengaluru has also planned to start its vaccination drive from today. A total of 160 railway health care workers will be vaccinated in Bengaluru.

Over 6,000 health workers administered with COVID-19 vaccine shots in Jharkhand
In Jharkhand, over 6,000 health workers have been administered with COVID-19 vaccine shots. The drive will continue today as well. According to latest reports around 2964 health workers at 49 different COVID vaccination centres including the Director of the largest hospital of the state Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) was vaccinated on the second day of the ongoing largest COVID Vaccination Drive in the state. The government has achieved 61.93 percent of the target of vaccinating Heath workers till yesterday. The drive will continue today also

Odisha to receive the second consignment of 3,34,500 doses of Covishield vaccine today
Odisha will today receive the second consignment of three lakh thirty-four thousand five hundred doses of Covishield vaccine of Pune-based Serum Institute of India. Along with the 4.08 lakh, Covishield and 20 thousand Covaxin doses received earlier, the fresh consignment of COVID-19 vaccine will enable the state to cover all its registered Health care workers during this phase of vaccination. Our correspondent reports that having achieved about 85% of vaccination on day one, the state delivered covid-19 vaccine shots to another batch of more than 30 thousand health care workers in 380 sessions across the state yesterday. The government has targeted to complete the registration process by 25th of this month so as to wind off the ongoing round of vaccination by the month-end.

Covid -19 vaccination being administered at 29 districts in Assam
In Assam, Covid -19 vaccination was administered at 29 districts in the state yesterday. Sources in the Health department said that a total of 3528 health workers got Covid 19 vaccine on the first day. In 31 districts Covishield was administered while in 2 districts Covaxin was used for health workers. There was no report of adverse effects after vaccination. Yesterday on the second day of vaccination, nearly 4500 health workers were covered.

Andhra Pradesh: 332 locations identified for the rollout of COVID-19 vaccination
In Andhra Pradesh, 332 locations have been identified for the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination and these numbers will be increased gradually to cover all the health facilities in the state. The state has received 4.7 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine developed by Serum Institute of India and 20,000 doses of Covaxin developed by Bharat Biotech. Andhra Pradesh has been at the forefront of the vaccination programme. Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of 21,291 people vaccinated, followed by Andhra Pradesh with 19,108. The Covid vaccination took place with full swing across the 13 Districts in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday and Sunday, receiving a very good response from the beneficiaries.

Vaccination drive against Covid-19 being carried out four days a week in West Bengal
In West Bengal, vaccination drive against Covid-19 is being carried out four days a week from today. The state has faced technical glitches regarding CoWin app. All relevant data are kept ready manually so far to be uploaded later on, said sources of the state health department.Our correspondent reports that after achieving more than 75 percent of the target on the inaugural day of immunization in the state, the vaccination drive is scheduled to be held at 207 centres from 9am to 5pm on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturdays. Hundred percent vaccination was achieved in four districts including Kolkata. All the enlisted persons have been asked to get the jab as per schedule.
