State Environment Minister, Aaditya Thackeray said that the use of innovative and advanced technologies will strengthen the fight against the global pandemic and it will help for early detection and treatment of Covid-19 patients. However, he made it clear that ongoing RT-PCR tests will continue as usual in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray inaugurated a Covid care centre with an 800-bed facility, including 200 ICU beds, in Pune yesterday. The Centre is developed within 18 days. He appealed to the people of the state to remain extra careful during festivals and rains in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Union Government today said that the country's recovery rate among the COVID-19 patients has reached to 75.27 per cent. In all, 57 thousand 469 COVID patients recovered during the last 24 hours. Health Ministry said, the total number of recoveries has reached over 23 lakh 38 thousand. It said, the recoveries of COVID-19 patients in the country are more than three times the active cases.

The Ministry said, this is because of effective implementation of the Centre-led policies ensuring efficient clinical management in hospital settings for critical patients and supervised home isolation for moderate and mild ones. The constantly increasing recoveries have ensured that the actual caseload of the country has reduced and currently comprises only 22.88 per cent of the total positive cases. Health Ministry said, this has also resulted in a gradually falling mortality rate in the country. Currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate is at 1.85 per cent, which is one of the lowest globally.

According to Indian Council of Medical Research, more than six lakh tests have been conducted during the last 24 hours. The total number of samples tested for Corona virus Infection so far has reached to over three crore 59 lakhs. The testing strategy also ensured a steady expansion of the national lab network. Today, with 984 labs in the government sector and 536 private labs, total one thousand 520 labs are providing comprehensive testing facilities to the people.
