Intermittent fasting for weight loss

We all know that intermittent fasting is becoming a trend these days. Let us check out some more details of intermittent fasting which can work wonders for us.

Intermittent fasting is worth the buzz

Intermittent fasting can be effective in reducing body weight. Couple up intermittent fasting with exercise and it can work wonders for you. You might have heard from many nutritionists and dieticians about what to eat and what not to eat. There are different types of diets to be followed. One such diet is Intermittent Fasting (IF).

What is intermittent fasting?

Intermittent Fasting is a dietary approach that involves interspacing and planned periods of fasting with regular intervals of eating which must be followed correctly.

5 types of Intermittent Fasting

Let us check the 5 types of intermittent fasting which work for you-

  • 5:2 fasting

This is one of the popular methods of intermittent fasting. The entire plan for this type of fasting is to eat 500-600 calories per day for 2 days followed by normal eating for 5 days a week. The fasting days can be any depending on the choice. The 5:2 approach may work better than cutting calories for the entire week.

  • Time- Restricted Fasting

This type of intermittent fasting plan includes a 14- 16 hour window period. This promotes natural detox which allows the liver and body to cleanse well. It also helps increase energy levels for the cells by helping and promoting nutrient absorption.

The 9 - 5 window works best with this approach. It works well with someone who chooses to eat a dinner meal early.

  • Overnight Fasting

This approach is simple and clear. It involves a 12-hour period of fasting daily. This means that you must stop eating by 7 pm. You can then resume by 7 am with breakfast the next morning. This is easy to implement.

  • Eat Stop Eat

This means fasting and taking a break. You can complete one-two day of fasts per week and commit to a resistance training program. This means you should fast for one or two days and then eat normally. Eating responsibly and going back to normal hours of eating is important.

  • Whole Day Fasting

This means you have to eat once a day. Choose dinner or lunch which makes you happy and then fast for the entire day. Only one meal is allowed per day.  The biggest advantage of this diet is that it is great for weight loss.

Choose one of these methods if you really want to see results in intermittent fasting and make sure to follow this regularly. This allows you regular meals every day with your favorite choices.
