To encourage Government Doctors to take up jobs in rural areas, he said that those willing to serve in rural settings will be given priority in promotion and increments.

The Karnataka Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar expressed hope of launching Arogya Karnataka emergency health services in the state.

Speaking at the first year MBBS students’ induction programme at a private medical college in Mandya today, he said that Arogya Karnataka programme being on the anvil will be a role model for the entire country.

He disclosed that under the programme 2.2, hospital beds will be made available for every 1,000 population, each Primary Health Centre will have an ambulance attached and the people can call up Doctors through Tele-medicine platform for tele-consultancy.


The 65 Medical colleges and 2,320 Primary Health Centres in the state will be part of the plan.
