Being fat-free, it can also be added to a fat loss diet. Strawberry is an excellent source of vitamin C, hence it is considered a boon for immunity.

Health benefits of strawberry

Strawberries contain many important vitamins and salts. It is also useful in enhancing beauty. Strawberry contains vitamin A, C, and K. Along with this it is a rich source of calcium, magnesium, folic acid, phosphorus, potassium, and fibers. Important thing is, it contains a negligible amount of cholesterol, fats, and sodium. Antioxidant and plant compounds that are present in strawberries, helps in improving blood circulation and heart health.

Useful for heart health – It helps in boosting heart health. Strawberry controls blood pressure and bad cholesterol, thereby reducing the risk of many heart-related diseases. Antioxidants present in this helps in reducing stress and inflammation.

Strawberry protects against cancers – Vitamin C helps in preventing cancerous diseases. The nutrients present in it kill the cancer-causing cells in the body and don't allow cancer to grow.

Good for skin - It is very beneficial in making the skin soft and fair. The alpha-hydroxy acid element present in it gives new life to the dead skin and makes new cells. The presence of salicylic acid helps to remove all dark spots and make the skin look clear and fairer.

Helps in weight loss – Nitrates present in strawberries combine with the blood of the body and control the effect of oxygen. This way it helps in weight loss and also decreases fat. Compared with other fruits, strawberries contain very less fat content.

Other benefits– Bones become strong by consuming strawberries. It enhances eye vision and decreases the risk of glaucoma. It helps in the digestive process also. It also plays an important role in reducing the risk of liver and stomach-related health conditions.

Disadvantages 

High in Sugar - Strawberries are high in sugar. Sugar can promote tooth decay, as this simple carbohydrate forms an acid that attacks your teeth when it comes into contact with the plaque that covers them.

Low in Calories – As strawberries contain low calories, it would take very large portions to obtain significant amounts of calories.

Low in Proteins - Strawberries are low in protein, with about 1 g in each cup. Protein is an essential nutrient that your body uses to build and maintain muscles and other tissues.
